I am considering mounting my spare on my bull bar similar to yours. Do you experience any cooling problems? Do you think the success is due to being diesel, or electric fans, or it wouldn't be a problem anyway? I am dying to do this but I need advice and I found a pic of your sweet truck. My truck is not diesel. It is a Ford big block with mechanical fan currently.

No have driven across the country when temp was 100 plus also to Alaska and back with no cooling problems with the spare mounted in front. Mine is diesel so I am not sure about gas engine. My fan is stock but you might need to upgrade your fan with the gas big block. You might be ok as the air seems to flow around the spare into the radiator with little or no reduction.
