Aftermarket bumper
#31
My buddy was recently laid off like me and he wants to makes these and sell them for all models, but shipping is the biggest concern on making them. He has no problem making, he would be happy to make one for any of you.
Mine was the first he made, He can tweak the design if you want. They are made from 3/16" steel, 1/4" brackets, and fully welded. Even the reciever is even reforced with L channel. If any is inerested in one PM me.
Thanks Matt

i contacted 'Hendry's' about the Javelina bumper for the second gen trucks. his reply was that he is considering starting to make them for our trucks.
i asked him about a timeframe, still waiting to hear back . . .
the javelina is made of 12 gauge steel - that seems a little thin doesn't it?
what thicknesses to the other bumper makers use (RA, Buckstop, TDK, Fab Fours, etc.)? he said his javelina would be comparable to RA toughness-wise, but i thought RA's were beefier than 12 gauge steel.
anyone have any info/insight on this?

also they have discount at 5 bumper or more so we definitely could save some $$ if we pull together.

Shameless plug
Can I shamelessly plug our Road Armor bumper?
It's BUILT. The guy we bought the truck from had hit a deer and vowed to never EVER have that kind of damage. It's overkill for us..

I bought a Ruenel in 2000 for my V-10. It is now on my '01 CTD. That thing has Killed 4 deer - at impact speeds of up tp 60 mph. Sent several Chevysand Subarus to the body shop. Been side swipe by a flat bed car carrier. Protected itself from several back your rig into my parked truck games. Then one very snowy night it THREW a Chevy Cavailer off the road that was broken down in the middle of the road around a blind corner....Boy those air bags taste bad. My truck still drove home on a flat tire and a leaky radiatior. Insurance totalled the old V-10 but ....with few bags of sandblast a fresh squirt of truck bed liner on the old bumper and shes on the new rig ...Killed a deer last winter too on the new truck. I wouldn't drive without one as it has paid for itself in bodywork over and over.

That is one beastly bumper, I like it. Of course I smoked a deer a few weeks ago with my stocker doin 55, and not a single bit of damage other than broken glass fog light...Other than the deer, which was a grease spot.
