Need help identifing axles

How does one determine what axles are underneath their truck? Is there a casting number? Does Dodge hide the build sheet in the truck and if so, does it spell out in plain English what the truck has?

There should be a casting on the pumkin like "60F" (Dana 60 Front) or "70U" (typical rear axle in our dodge diesels)

The rear axle identification should be cast into one of the webs around the pumpkin. Either on the bottom right, or on the right side webbing going from the axle tube to the pinion. Anyway...somewhere in there.
