12 valve manual high idle via cruise control

got this idea from a guy over on cf. really awesome.
tried to search it on here to make sure i didnt double
post it, and i didnt see it. anyway, just copying my
other post for simplicity.

okay, so i did this mod just now and it works
like a charm. the op's directions were spot
on.

here is where and how you splice into the
factory cruise control harness that connects
to the servo door thingy. man, do i love
t taps

it allows you to raise the rpm by jumping the cruise servo, which gives you a high idle feature on the 12v.

I use a piece of square dowel with a notch cut in the end. Go from the pedal to the bottom of the dash. Haha

That's a great idea...I've been trying to think of a "manual" high idle solution. lately.....runs out to garage looking for small piece of wood.....

Looks like a good idea.

Couple questions :

1.) I only see three taps, but there are 4 wires in the cab. Can you please clarify this a bit.

2.) It looks like a push button switch that will remain on until it is pushed again and a potentiometer. Is this correct, and what ratings/specs are used on the switches.

3.) Is there any reason this wouldn't function on a 2nd generation truck like my 94? Is the cruise control wiring the same?

here is the original post from the guy that explained it. basically, the red button on the right is an on/off switch, and the left button is the momentary switch.

you only have to run 1 ground wire, then you splice a 2nd ground wire once in the cab. i did read one guy with a 96 i believe, where this did not work on his truck. he said it only turned the cruise light off and on. he very well could have mis wired it though.

How much of a RPM increase does this put out?

Im looking at it more for upping the idle for Winch, jumper cables, Boat ramp (Manuel trans),

it bumps rpm up by roughly 200 per button push.
