Whats up with DTT ???

Does anyone know what is going on with DTT the Tranny company in Canada? They built me a very nice tranny this spring, I sent them back the core for my refund and now, nothing. No one answers the phone or returns e-mail. Could it be "Another One Bites The Dust" ??

Bill Klonaday (sp), the founder of DTT retired and gave over the company to his son.
It seems like things since then have gone downhill.

Looks like he is in so deep he will never be able to climb out of that hole he has dug for himself....

I have seen it before many times...the old man works his fingers to the bone building a reputation and a business only to retire and the son either runs it into the ground or blows it all up his nose in drugs.....

Don't know what the problem is in this particular case but the outcome is pretty well written on the wall.

Stefan does NOT know what he is doing and doesn't know how to take care of his customers!! There are NUMEROUS threads here on DTR about DTT's TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Agreed. To go from one of the most respected builders in the industry to what it has become is unbelievable. I don't know what happened, but the business practices didn't follow the generation prior.

Sad to hear. Built a few transmissions with their parts a few years ago. Good service back then

" things have gone downhill" is the understatement of the year. Stephan kondolay is a thief and should be known as such.

You may or may not ever see your core charge returned, if you paid with a credit card, try having the CC company to call DTT, that's what finally got the ball rolling for me.

Sorry to hear of the troubles. In our area we have a very good diesel shop that builds transmission using DTT parts.. I had mine rebuilt 85k ago and has been one of the best things I did to my truck. Have not had a single problem with it and have done several mods to my truck including over the years and make a fair amount of power and have no complaints about what I recieved from our local Diesel Shop that is a DTT reseller. I trust the owner of the shop and would take his word for any future needs I may have.

Again Sorry anyone has to get ripped off or screwed out of anything.

Sadly there has been a HUGE change since you had yours done 85K ago...when one of their top installers (whom I trust explicitly) dropped them a while back I could see the writing on the wall. Believe me he would not have made such a change lightly......

Anybody here remember when the Kondolays first decided to get into the dual-turbo business? First ones they installed made the trucks make LESS horsepower than with the single turbo. Oh they took a lot of abuse over that mess.
