TX DTR #8--August Meet
Well, spent all day doing it, but got it all done. Jordan put a new HTT turbo on his truck a few weeks ago, so I took his he 351 off his hands. Today we put on some injector tips and an intake horn on his truck.
For not having any electronics his truck is pretty peppy at the top end, if we had just done his truck only he would probably be able to pass me with all of my stuff turned up. But with the help of his old turbo my truck can stay ahead, however the day he puts a Smarty on his truck I won't stand a chance.

Too bad. I was hoping it was going to be at Brian's in Fairfield. He may not get to host any since he got married.
Besides my first kid is due the 13teenth. Cutting it kinda close. PS is there anything official I need to do to join the group or just show up like I've done a couple of times in the past.

Well, I took care of my wrenching today. Finally got around to swapping the old DD2s back, so the Mach6s are on the shelf (hopefully to be cleaned and checked while they're out). And checked the valve lash while I was in there. It is nice to have the touchy throttle response gone. Plus, I can be more lazy with my shifts now and not worry about a cloud on every shift. And even better, I should have normal cruise operation back, which will be great since I'm headed to Giddings this weekend and Shreveport next week.
As far as I know, I'll be around the weekend of the GTG, so I may be able to make an appearance.

Hmm... I may be flyin Ty out here to Cali on the 5th so if I have an extra driver I can swing by northern Texas but prolly won't be till Sunday morning, I need to be in PA the following day but maybe I can make it
Over 85* was always a possible smoke-fest with the 6's.
But I think you have to admit, it's pretty impressive that a 220 hp injector is even doable on the street! Always amazed me.
Those DD2's must be a bit tired. Ever get them cleaned and tested?
RJ
No, never found a place. So I just cleaned them up a bit at home a while back and finally made it down to Cummins for new o-rings and washers.
Gonna try and send the 6s to Don to be cleaned and tested since they had 40K already when I got them and I've added not sure how many more.
I am looking forward to throwing on a trailer and being able to give her hell as opposed to having to light foot it around.

Matt stop by if you can. We would love to have you!
BUT............Everybody (
especially you Matt!!) Remember though that I live in a residential subdivision and McKinney PD are constantly driving by my house.
No burnouts, smokefests, racing etc.....they will get ya. And I have neighbors! This is NOT going to turn into a drunk fest or a big party! This is a QUIET get together for anybody that wants to come........and RELAX!, enjoy the company and celebrate (modestly) Dan coming home to TX and my birthday and maybe do some very light wrenching.
It will be good to see Tyler again. Been a while.
