Ice skating is all that is going to happen on my street for a while... Was going to take the truck to work today, meant I needed to move the Jetta out of th way first (ATVs in the garage for camping this weekend)...

Long sotry short, doors are froze SOLID! ran some cold water down the vertical seems and that helped some, wasn't about to pour over the top seam and have it run over my glass soooo I'm locked out...

Hollared at my super to see what his status was... "working from home today... too dang cold" so car and truck can thaw on their own... I'm off today! its crazy everything has a 1/4" of ice with the exception on the 2' diameter circle on my hood... Good ol block heater works wonders no?? Just ordered one for the Jetta! takes 10miles of driving to get heat out of that thing!

Just got my new Danthamancustom load plate for the P7100.. maybe install that today if it warms up any... ready for some more fuel!!

Me too...for a while.

Backed out of garage onto my street. It's 400 yds and about a 1% grade up to Hwy 70. Could not make it.
All I could do was spin all four and drift towards the ditch.

I think DFW area got more ice than we did but no sanding the roads up here in the sticks.

You could use my patio for an ice rink and the driveway for a ski ramp. I put off going to Emory until Friday.

Charlie, your wallet has been spared until another day. And I take it the last two days you have been very hateful?
Got sleet all over around here, otherwise, not that bad from what I can tell, but I haven't stepped outside yet today.
Forgot to turn on a drip yesterday so my water was frozen when I looked at 8pm, so I hop out and grab a halogen light and go thaw out a water line.

Took me 40 min to do the 5 miles to work.....10 mph max, with starting to bald, high pressure tires. Now that the sun is out, on the unsanded roads, it's as bad as the black ice I use to see on the backroads of northern Maine.

Had a front wheel drive Toyota go by me about 40 mph. Went over a small rise and did a 1080 before slamming into the new, back parking lot sign for the Choctaw Casino! Was a cop car parked about 30" away.
No one was hurt, so I throughly enjoyed seeing this idiot get what he worked so hard to earned!

Only 26* outside but melting nicely in the sun! At least up here, people stay home: saw very little traffic.
TV showed Dallas traffic and I was surprised how many people were out and about!

That is one thing nice about up here...once they plow the roads..and you get a hard pack......the roads are not too bad up here......just idoits that dont shovle their driveway that causes issues.....

I dont miss the ice at all.....

Well there was plenty of ice here too. My truck was covered good. It hasn't been started since last Friday night. (longest period I can recall in recent memory!)

Well as it turns out, There was ONE positive about having this Flu.........I didn't have to go to work or drive home in the ice last night. But NOT showing up is NOT an option for me, unless im on a "Sick" Day. We don't take off, or work from home, for ANY weather events...LOL.

Although im not completely well, I finally just couldn't stand being in my house anymore. Last night I ventured outside and fired up the old oil burner. It fired right off and sat there and purred! Made me so proud.

I let it high idle for a few minutes, got my mail and such. Then finally pulled out of the driveway and went to the bank to get some cash. Then made my way to Braums for a delicious hamburger/fries, and a milkshake! Then back home I went.

I know that sounds like a silly thing to enjoy. But after being cooped up in my house for the previous 5-6 days.........I couldn't stand it anymore. I am running low on food here.........and I needed something good to eat. And I missed listening to the Cummins.

Just had to share my moment of joy...

It's the little things in life that often get overlooked.
