EatMySmoke....Very nice truck!
I test drove a similar truck in 1991, it was not any where near what I could afford at the time. The picture brought back memories of that test drive when I had to excuse myself from the salesman to wipe the saliva from my mouth.
Refreshing to see this restoration. Ride with pride my friend.

Heres some of the truck and also what it might be hauling.
I'm not very good at taking pictures so theres shadows and dark spots all over the place, but you get the idea

That's funny!

A little nicer looking than Nick's Frankentruck. No offense intended, Nick.

So far as swaps go it is not bad. The old ones are the easiest, but you get all the benefits of an old truck like noise, leaking door seals, aged interior etc. Mine was redone a while back, but kindof halfassed so I have alot of stuff I want to fix. However, a late model with IFS is just hideous IMHO. Nothing like the D60 from the old trucks.

I can handle all the door leaks and what not. If I couldnt wouldnt drive my 93(cowl cracks, worst door hinges in 3 countys...) Id really love to drop a 12v in a 4door 1st gen but finding one isnt quite as easy as an old 4door chevy. Plus chevys ride better and parts for the body would be easy to come by, OEM, aftermarket and junkyeards.
Being a 4wd aint that big a deal to me seeing as how it will just be a road truck.
Basicly I want to do a lot of road trips with friends in the future. I want the mileage of a VW Jetta but the room and cargo ability of a 4 door truck.
I was thinking a 12v with an auto, gearvendor and a high rear end would produce some nice numbers.....

This is the truck fresh from the paint shop. Still got some work to do but it's getting there. You will see it rolling all around north, west, east, Texas area at any given time

Is that done up in the later 2nd gen silver? We had a 97 silver one, but that looks like the color found in the 00-02 models.
