Jordan, you need to get you something in a class 5 or 6 international with a dt466 for pulling that heavy of loads, Tough as nails and the best diesel engine besides a 6bt, IMO. Get yourself one built between 92 and 95 and they have p-pumps on them. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the help. I've still got a few things I have to wait on and then decide what I'm gonna do. I'm trying to get another job, full time and haul the hay while I can. So depending on that and when that is, hopefully in a few months then I'll know better what I need to do for that. Where can I look into those trucks??? And about how much would that cost? I don't want to spend a fortune but also don't want anything to fall apart on me lol. What about a CDL for one of those, is that req.?? Do you know what that'll do to my insurance if anything?? Thanks for the help!!!

I know according to plenty of people who have cdls including my dad, if you can get by without getting one then do it because its hell once you have one according to him. Its like driving on ice caus if you make one mistake your screwed. And you can't get tickets dropped, and after 3 you loose your liscense.

As long as the GVW rating on the truck is under 26k you dont need a cdl says my brother.

Ok, well that's good to know but I'm a bit over that. I did 29k# without truck wieght, so I'd be pushing close to like 36-37k#?? I'm looking at either getting a truck that will only haul my hay, and then gettin rid of big red lol, and down size. Still diesel probably 2wd.

If you can get farm tags on it, then you can haul over 26K from what I've heard. But I'd suggest that if you can get say a truck that size registered with farm tags, and the over 26K applies, then still try to keep the truck itself under 26K.

Thats what you were at though, not the rating . As long as you dont get weighed while overweight, but the truck is rated for under 26 then you are okay lol.l

I'm saying as long as the truck by itself is under 26K and with farm tags you can get by with being over that with the load.

I'll be hauling in the Counties surrounding Tarrant and Hood.

So I know I can get farm tags for my truck, but that doesn't help my tranny problem lol lol. Anyway, I was gonna look into a little bigger class of a truck and get farm tags on it, and I don't think I'll need a CDL for the size I'm looking or has been recommended. I will let ya'll know what's up, but I just dropped my truck off at the Mechanics and he's gonna redo the whole trany (still under waranty) and then it's probably gonna be up for sale once I get back from CO. Next week I'm gonna get things lined up and figured out as to what I need to get for another truck. So, anyone looking for a good rig let me know!!!
