Is it worth towing 2nd car to AK or drive?

I've used the Uhauls before. They have hydraulic inertia trailer brakes if I remember right. The attachment points are nice and I was impressed. If you're not familiar with their braking system it takes some getting used to. Basically the trailer hitch slides back as you apply the truck brakes and this pushes a spring loaded cylinder (hydraulic ram) which applies the brakes.

I would think the cost to rent the Uhaul trailer would be $1000 or more. I'm wondering if it would just be cheaper to buy a small 16' bumper pull trailer instead.

It may be, I will look into it. Last time I had a Uhaul trailer, that brake was a PITA. I was trying to back into a driveway, and just slight curb/driveway was enough resistance to make the brakes squeeze, so it resisted more, braked more, it was a bad kind of funny.
