Question Wheel/rim weight capcity questions????

I am considering some low cost black steel rims for my truck. The version I want has a max load rating of 2000 lbs. My truck weighs darn near 7000 (I think, 6800 or something) That means a load capacity (people, fuel, cargo) of 1000 lbs or less is all she can handle by the book. Some of the alloys I have looked at are better with around 3400 lbs of max load. What should I do?

I want to tow/haul, off-road, and street/highway driving, maybe even sled pull or drag.

I am at a loss. I like the steels for the cost and all-black look, similar alloys are double the cost, what do I do? Plus I like a steel wheels ability to be hammered back when bent when alloys crack.

When you guys buy a rim do you pay attention to the weight capacity? Is there a specific capacity to look for?

I got my 22.5 rims for the extra load capacity
Seriously, rims with a 2,000 load capacity would be dangerous with any kind of load.

As you are driving a 91.5 model can you use the 16 inch wheels from earlier Fords? I see where all the 17 inch wheels are quite expensive and the one set of steel wheels I saw only have the same 2000 lb load rating. There are 16 inch Ford wheels through 91 that have a load rating of 3750.

See if you can find something to fit here; http://www.southwestwheel.com/
