Goodyear is good, at least my experience, witht tire problems. If you go out to their web site, you can get a case number and normally get the tires replaced, as well as your deductible on insurance.
All manufactuerers have bad batches. When we had a motorhome with 19.5 wheels, Michelien had a real bad reputation for that size, plus they made a lower load rating.
Goodyear has taken care of any tire issues to my satisfaction. If you wanrt a serious 16" tire, they make an RST rated for 3750 lbs. Several people on this site have them, with no problems. They were specificlly made for 5th wheels, I believe.
It is a shame when a tire come apart; It is worse when the manufactuer will not take care of the customer.

the cure for me was to get rid of the goodyear and go to Michelin..... good tires. You could not give me the 16 inch goodyears. All goodyear makes today in 16 heavyduty is the 614 . It is a total piece of junk. Ask anyone that uses them. I currently use michelin rated at 3640 which replaced the 3750 rated goodyear. I have near 40,000 overloaded miles on them with no problems, the goodyear poped one each trip.

I use them - our current 5th wheel came with them. I've had no problems with them at all.

I also replaced the OEM Goodyear Wrangler HTs on our previous 5th wheel with Michelin XPS Ribs. The Michelins ran substantially cooler than the fabric-and-steel Wranglers, and I never had a problem with the Michelins.

I just bought 2 Michelins to go on the front axle and I have 1 Toyo bought in Branson Ms. and a Yokohama bought in Dillon Mt. on the rear axle. The best Goodyear is my spare, all tires are 10 ply rated.
