Here is somthing that will help you alot even you don't flip the axels. Get yourself the Rand McNally Motor Carriers Road Atlas. It has all the info that is needed such as bridge heights for all roads. My 5vr is 12' 8" tall. I use 13' as a rule for clearance. I hope this helps

Carry a 12 volt portable compressor. In a pinch let some air out of tires to gain 3 or more inches get past the low bridge. Then air them up when past that spot.

For that purpose a tank is better if you do it often like when we used to go to the beach years ago. Talk some fire department into donating or selling an obsolete air tank from a back pack. Adapt a regulator, set it for your tire pressure and just fill them up. The tanks last a long time. I have also seen CO2 used for the same thing. The air tanks can be used for impact wrenches, impact hammers, and any other air tools. Smaller fire departments will fill the tank for 2 or 3 dollars. They are great for air horns also.
