Timbren
Timbren
So I am getting pops a set of timbres for Xmas,I have looked around here and came up with there's two two different weight springs, the 3500 or the 6000,he does haul heavy trailers and in the summer loaded with tools. I don't want a rough ride for him empty and can't find the source for the lighter springs
Wont affect the ride when empty because they dont touch the axle until you load up the truck... Once loaded they cushion the ride pretty well. Guess it would be possible to get a bouncing situation if you were lightly loaded, but I've never experienced that with the pin weight of our fifth wheel. Double check what size you're looking at, I'm pretty sure the 3000 lb ones you are refering to are for the front end only. The back end ones are 6000 or 8600 lbs depending on the model of truck your putting them on. Easy to install and a good investment in my opinion. I love mine.
We sell a product very similar to a Timbren called the Air Cell. With the truck year, I can get a part number for you. I can also get the part number for an air bag kit if you wanted to go that route and have adjustability. Let me know. Thanks!
You can give Timbren a call and they'll make sure you have the right kit. Then instead of buying directly from them, they'll tell you to shop around and find a vender who has the best price. But even though you purchased from another vender, they still stand behind their product 100% if there's something wrong or your unhappy.

I have had the DR2500CA kit installed on my truck for approx. 70,000 miles. They are not adjustable like airbags but once you install them you never have touch them again. They are there when you need them.

I've had Timbrens for a couple years now. I like the lack or maintenance they need. My truck also has the 2" leveling kit so the front sits higher than normal when there's weight on the rear. After acquiring a heavy 5th wheel, I thought I'd like the rear to not sit as low so Timbrens sent me a new HD set. Here's some before and after pictures. The new set keeps the truck about 5/8" higher in the rear with the same weight. They seem to work. I considered trying airbags but I'm going to give these new Timbrens a try first since Timbren customer service obviously wants to make me happy.
