Shur Trax

Has anyone tried out the Shur Trax water thinamajig? I've only see two reviews on it. One very impressed and the other said it tore the first time he used it and is sending it back. I sure would like some added traction with my 4X2 Cummins.
In case you haven't seen it, it is a large bladder you fill with water in the back of your truck. It can add up to 400 lbs over the rear axle.

Just go get some 70lb sandbags. If you're in the cold climate and want traction for snow and ice, sand is the way to go. I put a 2x10 across the bed just behind the wheelwells and pile the sandbags between it and the tailgate, that way the weight is as far back as possible and is pretty secure. Or you could get fancy and build a little frame out of 2x10's. Another thing, not only does the sand add weight, but if you do find yourself on some slick ice and can't get moving you can dump a little sand down in front the tires to get some grip. Plus I'm sure it's cheaper than the water bag. Just my .02

I am thinking of getting one for another reason. I hauled a wood cookstove in back of my dually for 500 miles and it rode way way!! better. But like you, I would like to hear some feedback from owners.

I have a 1000# water bladder (made for wakeboard boats) and it works pretty well. 400# in the bed doesn't do much to help a diesel in the snow.
