Had triple A,, got rid of it and went with Good Sam. Better policy with no hassle assistance on the road.

The tow insurance I believe they're discussing is emergency road service insurance which includes towing a disabled rig to a service facility. We carry Good Sam ERS.

Here in Texas, the truck's liability insurance covers the trailer, but if you want your trailer fixed in the event of an accident, I'd strongly recommend carrying supplemental RV insurance.

Supplemental insurance is worth it in my opinion. Hail storm came through and beat the heck out of the roof of my trailer. Insurance company ended up paying for $7k worth of damage. Just make sure you read the fine print (which I hadn't) as the trailer was only insured to 10K and gap insurance may be needed depending on the cost of yours...thankfully I didn't need the gap.

I have American Modern for my travel trailer. Comes with roadside assistance and a full replacement guarantee for the first 5 years of ownership. Covers all of our belongings in the trailer also. If you're just using you auto policy you better check the coverage before you need it. Most are good for liability only.

It depends - first registration with Good Sam ERS used to be something like $79.95/year. After you've been there awhile, it goes up to $99.95 year unless you play hardball with them.

yep 79.95 was what I paid, I did not have to be a Good SAm member either.

Hope I never have to use it....

Thanks, that's pretty cheap. I assume that would cover blowouts, fuel issues etc...

Yep, plus lockouts, towing the RV to a campground and the truck to a repair facility, etc.

Good Sam ERS also includes all vehicles in the household, including motorcycles.
