RV covers

We just picked up a used '01 Fleetwood Prowler 24' travel trailer, And would like to keep it in good shape. Are those "weather proof" ADCO covers a good idea? They are kind of pricey @ $300+ but I think would be well worth it if they work good. What do you think?

If you have a protected area out of the wind, they will help to keep it clean. Any wind however and the constant chaffing movement will damage the finish of the trailer and tear the cover. I bought one of the best out there made out of Sunbrella fabric. Sucker cost me a thousand bucks. Every sharp edge has to be protected to prevent cutting the fabric and the thing has to be installed very tight. I don't think I would buy another one. Best plan is to store it inside with a cement floor where it is dry. I tried that route as well and the barn with a dirt floor created a lot of moisture.

Go over to rv.net and do a search on RV covers. Not many positive post about them for the reasons Casey stated. I was going to buy one for our 5th wheel until I did some research on them.

As the Casey posted they are not worth the money if you have it stored where wind is. It will just tear up and damage the RV. I had one on mine and it blew around like a kite. I got rid of it and would never use one again.

I, too, have been on the verge of getting a cover for my trailer similiar to yours. At the time, it is kept in a pole barn (on dirt). It costs me $50/mo. to keep it there. My community has a trailer storage lot where there is no cost but it has lots of trees, squirrels, & bird droppings. From the comments, looks like I would be better off just keeping it uncovered in the barn. One obvious problem I would see is the frequent removal & re-installation to keep it from getting filthy stored on my wooded lot. Comments?
