resonable price on one way car hauler rental

im helping my cousin move from Dayton Ohio to Miami Florida. Uhual wants $560 for a one way car hauler rental, but only $60 if i bring it back to dayton.

sence my grandpa lives in daytona and i was thinking about spending a week with him but dont have a place to leave the trailer, nor do i wish to deal with towing a empty trailer 1000 miles back to dayton.

what should i do?

Shop around...

There's more than just U-Haul out there...competition is good. You might find a "better" trailer, cheaper price, closer drop off locations. Won't know 'til you look.

Buy a used one and sell it after you finish using it. Many people do it. You could advertise it before hand and say it's available after a certain date.

Well, you might call a local storage place in Daytona and see what it would cost to store it there until your ready to head north.

I looked for a Uncle Bobs Storage in that area and was going to give you phone number but there are none.

I have flat towed cars + trucks on a tow bar many times for 1700 miles no problems yet. Flew down to Huston Tx to pick up my dually took my bolt together tow bar, tow lights, tools and some mounting brackets i made up and brought back a dodge power wagon on the bar. I also use a tow dolly a lot and it would be easy to store for the week while you were down there.
