removable tongue for tag trailer

I have been tossing around the idea, anyone done it? I was going to try it on my small 12' enclosed first and if I like it and it seems safe enough I'll do all of my trailers. I've had one trailer stollen last summer and dont want to go though that again!

Anyone have any pictures / ideas on what or what not to do?

Thanks guys!

Lots of mobile homes have removable tongues. I had one years ago that was 16 x 80. It was held on with eight 3/4 inch bolts. Frame had a plate with coresponding plate on the tongue.

Just check it often, I guess if DOT lets mobile homes have them, should be OK.
