Question On Trailer Tires

Hey guys.
Im looking at a flatbed utility trailer the previous owner used to haul around a backhoe.
Pretty stout trailer and a decent price.
However, it needs tires and the current axle configuration requires a tire size of 7x14.5 (mobile home size tires).
The axles have a brake/hub assembly that is much like that of older mobile homes where the wheel is an outer rim that employees 5 lugs with tabs to hold the rim in place.

I understand that these tires are not easy to come by and are expensive when found.

How easy would it be to change the hub assembly to use a more conventional wheel/tire combo?

Rich.

I just went through this whole ordeal. This is where I got my tireshttp://www.trailertiresandwheels.net...278/page/45029 I bought Item #B1406. I needed the 3000lb rating. These are Tow Master by Greenball.

You can get the drums here http://shop.easternmarine.com/ I only ordred the brake assemblies from them but they have what you need if you want to change out the drums. They had the best price I could find on genuine Dexter brake assemblies.

Excellent guys. Thanks.
He's rejected my first offer. I'll counter again tomorrow and see what he does.

Rich.
