I designed and fabricated it myself at the shop.

 

Mike I know some of the alum fancy wheels if you read on the inside will say something along the lines of not intended for heavy use. Yes the place will install them for you but I would hope they would not knowing if you have a heavy truck like that. Check with manufacture and the vendor too. Reason I stay away from the fancy wheels and stick with good old steels. Going though MBs site I cant even find a wheel that looks like your to find the weight specs on them.

 

I found out today that my 17" wheels are made by Vision - the same manufacturer of 19.5" aluminum alloys (4500# rating) that Rickson features on their website!

Must be a manufacturing defect....

 

Is it getting repo'ed?

 

That dont mean squat. A manufactureer may make wheels for several diferent companies and the quality can very BIG TIME. I wourk for a hydralic cylinder manufactureer and I can tell ya ther is definatly a diference in the quality depending on who the costomer is. The costomer sets the quality level expected and the manufactureer will most definatly not spend any more time and money on the part making it better than the costomer requires.

 

Well, hopefully Vision isn't selling any "seconds" to Discount Tire... just picked up my new warranty wheel today!

oh they are quite lite actually i thnink in total 4000 lbs

they plow thru the wind real bad and the ribs on the sides dont go thru the air very well either

 

Just picked up the trailer Saturday.

 

How do you like the appalachian. I just order a 28 foot gooseneck deckover from them. Is yours a tilt???

 

I love it and yes it is a tilt. I had to do a spring over on it though to get it sit level behind the truck. I don't have a lift, just front leveling kit and the 35's but the front axle on the trailer was barely on the ground before. Now that's it's higher I wish I'd gone 28' because the tilt angle is now too steep to drive our car up onto. I think it was too steep before the spring over anyway. It's only a 24' deck. I'm going to fab up a 4' ramp on the back to load the car and tractor.

 

Put bags on it with a dump valve... Then put a very small compressor mounted on the trailer and run it off of the aux power plug from you trailer wiring connection to refill them after loading.
Nice rig though....

 

I was looking at the various Kelderman systems for trailers to look at that as an option. I have a Kelderman system on my truck and love how it works so it would be really cool to have one on the trailer as well. Especially with the dump option to lower it back down
