Pictures of Rigs and Rides Part 2!!!!!
36' Nor Tech Supercat "Dr Evil".
This boat runs in the 190mph range. We took the little 1150hp motors out and put in a pair of 1650hp mills last year. The guy who owns this ride is a baller! This is a fun boat to drive.

Since it would be appropriate for this forum, I think you should throw together a boat with one or two twin turbo'd cummins under the hatch. May have to play with the prop size and pitch to match the rpm limits, but it should definately do better on fuel consumption...
What kind of torque do you get out of a 1150 hp gas engine?

Depends if it's naturally aspirated or blown but they are around 1000lbs. Offshore boats best friend is torque at the right rpm, 5300-6300. Running a boat hard is like driving your truck up hill with a load and holding it there. They are really hard on motors. Most car motor builders can't build a boat motor that will last longer than a few hours. I've learned over the years to rely on just very few engine builders who have years and years of experience building performance marine motors. There are a handful of them around the country and the going rate is $60k - $100k for a big HP mill.
We have a few diesels in the fleet but they are all in Florida.
