No Gages, how much power?

I'm going to drive 12 hrs this weekend to possible buy a 31ft 6,500lb travel trailer. I have not yet installed gages and plan to but not before the trip.

I was going to set the Smarty to stock.

Should I set it lower than stock or just not worry about it. I'm going through the rolling mountains of I-81 all the way udown the appilachans from NY to TN. Will have plenty of long pulls on grade.

You'll do just fine without the smarty. You'll be hooked up at 65mph at 2000 rpm's with the G56. The Cummins won't know its hooked to anything. The only tell tail will be fuel mileage, around 12-13 I'll bet.

Have a good trip, check them trailer tires before you leave with the tow and at least an hour later.

Just don't push it hard on the grades. Slow down and drop a gear if it acts like it would like to.
