New Jordan...Help
New Jordan...Help
Hey fella's. I just installed my new Jordan( Thanx for the link $109 to my door
) .I wired it up using the plug that came with my rig. I had a Reese hooked up that came with the camper. Bought the Jordan as an upgrade.
Well, i hooked it up as per the instructions(Yes, i actually read them
). When i hooked up the camper and press the red button fully, it only displays 00.3 amps. I checked the brakes, and they are NOT engaging. I then took everything apart to make sure it was hooked up correctly. It appears to be. the thin blue wire from the truck plug is not being used, because they work off of the peddle. the THICK blue wire is wired up to the Jordan...sound right?
BTW the green continuity light was iluminated, so it reconised that the trailer was hooked up, and the adjustment dial was turned all the way CW, as per instructions. I tried turning the dial the opposite way....same results
The troubleshoot section doesn't list my problem. Defective unit??
I leave in a weak for Thanksgiving...towing 1,500 miles and i would hate to put the old controller back in there. Please help
TIA

As far as I have ever heard, blue always matches blue.
What is the thick vs. thing blue wire????
I do not have an 03 anymore but on my 01:
Red/orange is +12v
Blue is brake
White/tan is brake lamp switch output (NOT USED WITH JORDAN)
Black is ground
On my JORDAN, (going off memory) red is 12v, blue is brake and white is ground....
I have never seen blue NOT be trailer brakes.

I would get out the trusty voltmeter, go back to the seven pin plug, have the wife push the button with the controller on max and see if you have voltage at the correct pin. If not, a quick call to Jordan would be the best thing to do - - the man himself will probably answer the phone. He will walk you thru it.

Well, i spoke with Randy at http://www.bestbrakecontroller.com/ and he said it sounds like the controller is defective. He tried calling jordan today, but was unable to get in touch with him. They are sending me another unit, I should get it by Wednessday. My fingers are crossed.
Now, i recomend anyone out there in the market for this controller to call these guys. It is $109 to the door, Express mail. I got it 2 days later. When i had my problem, i went to their customer service page and wrote them an Email. I THEN noticed it said they were open 7 days a weak. So i gave them a call and was told that randy would get back to me. Well, i figured that meant today, but sure enough he called me back on a Sunday. He said" You call me on a Sunday, and I'll call you back on a Sunday."....now thats service.
