New Class V hitch

Lo and behold, I went to hook up my bumper pull horse trailer to my spankin new 2017 truck and ??***!!! the receiver hitch is too big
I didn't even know there was a 2.5" receiver...
Is there an adaptor (that slips inside the factory receiver, to take up the extra space) that is safe?
Is this factory hitch a good one?
My trailer probably weighs 8-10K, depending...

Your truck should have come with a sleeve to reduce to 2". Check in all of the storage spaces inside the cab. Mine was in the storage box in the floor on the drivers side in the back seat. It is acceptable to use a reducer and a 2" receiver.

If it's a class V it should be pretty stout...
