Mind Loss, Trailers, 2500, Weights, Lobotomy!
Ok, gents, I am completely loosing my mind with too much information on what my quad cab, 2500, cummins, 4wd 6 speed can haul for a trailer. Here is what baffles me.
Inside of the door frame sticker lets me have 9K ish between the front and read (reg'd for 9K).
Rumour has is that I can ONLY go to 22K total vehicle weight WITH trailer from Dodge (no, its not documented).
Local Fuzz sez if I exceeed 26001 I need a CDL. If I reg gooseneck as a camper this apparently disappears.
I am looking at a used gooseneck (36 foot?) with an 18K GVW...will mounting this trailer and using onthe road make me an unlawful person???? Caveats? Eperiences with this kind of thing?
THANKS!
Andy

yet more mind loss
All,
Apparently to keep under the 26001 limit, I can reg the trailer to either 16K or 15K to keep the reg'd vehicle weights under the limit. Opinions?
Thanks SO much for helping regain my mind!
