Re:Load range for BF Goodrich tires

Check your sidewalls
BFG's have a 3 ply sidewall , most others do not.
I run 285/75/16 BFG's and they run great with a load
I load my truck regularly.

: Eddie : 8)

Re:Load range for BF Goodrich tires

The 265/75/16 E rated Michelins that came stock on my 2001 2500 SWB are rated at 3415 lb at 80 psi for SW and 3000 lb at 80 psi for duals. Towing a 10,000lb 5er, with 70 - 80 psi in the rears, stability is excellent and I will use the same tires when these need replacing.

Nick

Curous, my '99 came with 245/75 16E, I am currently running the spare on my trailer. Impressive tread and wear.

Re:Load range for BF Goodrich tires
Okay, everyone I've asked about tires say I've have to have (or should have) an "E" rated tire in order to haul my 5er around (12,500lbs) :. The stock tires I have do have an "E" rating at around 3000 lbs (or close to that). I was looking at the BF Goodrich tires site and they have a BF Goodrich AT (LT295/75R16D) It's weight rating is at 3414@65 psi. Question is it's a "D" rated tire but rated at a higher level than my stock "E" rated tires. Will this tire work or should I say with the "E" rated tires ???
Thanks for any input...Big dawg
Another point to make is the 295s are larger tires, are you going to be towing a 5th wheel, in a stock size you should keep with your "E" range tires to get the proper load.

KC
