OR you could talk to this guy about one of his Volvos - I thought I saw he's selling them for about 30-35K... Should probably run around 400K before an overhaul would be needed. And you wouldn't have to worry about weight - at least I don't think you would...

You should just save yourself trouble later on and get the CDL. The estimated weights are low for the truck. Are you going to have fun driving around with a quarter tank of fuel just to be under 26000? At the rate it is going, I wouldn't be suprised if anything over 10,000 lbs towed that wasn't an RV requires a CDL soon.

Spicer 7-speed is also available.
Not in the F550. The F650 can be ordered with a Cat, Cummins, or Powerstroke.

Is 6600 the empty weight for the SRW Hemi or the Dually diesel ? If that's dry weight you can add 400 lbs. for a full 50 gallon fuel tank . Add a bed and hitch and you're up to a normal 8,000 . Weight is strength . I'd avoid a lightweight truck with the purpose of hauling a heavier load .

R Model Mack ??? I agree they're great trucks but not road tractors and they quit making R models years ago . I believe Patrick would want something with a sleeper . An International , or possibly Freightliner would be his best bet .

chaikwa.
If you can justify the expense the Frieghtliner M2 is available with 4wd
