You probably already know the Tekonsha Prodigy is a much simpler install.

Chris
[/quote]

Chris,
Had Prodigy. Good controller. Got me in a little hot water a couple of times, but overall a good unit. Then, in an emergency, had to drive my friends rig with a fiver on it for about 500 miles. Wondered why it stopped so smoothly. Looked for his controller - - Jordan.

Ask the guys that have towed with both. Most of them have switched to Jordan. You have complete control of the braking. It is a different feeling than Prodigy. You hear a lot of guys bragging about their Prodigy and rightly so. Good unit. The interesting part is they have never driven with a Jordan. I was lucky enough to get a chance for a real live demonstration. I like it much better. Probably took me all of 20 minutes extra time to install it. I would not call that a "difficult" install.

Bob

Is it that easy? I thought it was much more trouble, judging from all the hassles discussed in this thread.
I only tow a 2K flat bed, or with a tractor or pickup loaded on it. I haven't really noticed anything bad about my Prodigy, but maybe it's like you say, I won't understand until I experience the Jordan.

Chris

Re:Jordan brake controller on adjustable pedals
Chris,

The Jordan controller does not use the fourth wire, brake light sensor. Rather, there is a wire that goes to a bracket mounted up high on the brake arm. It only takes a couple minutes to mount the bracket. The second clip is mounted right next to the controller to hold the sheath around the wire. The setup is similar to a hand brake on a bike. The controller only operates in conjunction with the actual amount of brake pedal depression. Very smooth. Feels like the brakes on your truck. No initial surge.

Sierra,

January, hopefully. It working great right now and I even moved the pedals some and it made no difference. The angle of my holder clip is such that moving the pedals did not materially alter the amount of tension on the wire.

Just ready to hit the road. Too many things to do. Maybe I should go get a job again.

FiverBob,

Just wondering something. Got in and drove the old 2000 this week end for the first time in awhile. Well that made me realize just how little you have to push on the break peddle in the 2003 compared to previous years. So how does this effect the Jordan when it has less brake pedal movement to go off from?

Re:Jordan brake controller on adjustable pedals
Mopar,

The position of the bracket on the brake pedal determines how much action you get on the wire. The higher you go, the less movement. I am up very near the top of the pedal. The instructions recommend no MORE than 1 1/2 inch of movement of the wire. That is not a whole bunch. The rest is in the setting of the wire retainer. I have found it very responsive once adjusted. I am sold on the controller. I should know about the new bracket next week.

Bob
