Help!!!!!installing Firestone Ride Rite On 2004 Ram
U.P.S. Just delivered the air bags and I was going through the insructions. Here is what I don't understand - on the drivers inside of the frame the bracket interfeirs with a bracket welded to the frame for the brake line assembly. The directions do not say anything about this..... Am I supost to cut the bracket for the air bag ofF about 2 inches so that it doesn't interfier with the brake line assembly bracket. I hope this makes sense haven't been sleeping much with the new baby around....
Thanks,
Tim

I would contact Ride Rite or the vendor you got them from.
A friend of mine got a set and they did not work without major alterations and he did not install them.
I know what you are talking about...as I sought out to make a set for my truck and theres all sorts of brake lines and brackets as well as the from in there to make the install a bit tougher then it should be.

OK, either there are MAJOR differences between the 03's and the rest or the 2500's & 3500 SRW's or both or you go the wrong ones. I did the install on mine and only had to lossen up the bracket that holds the axel to the springs to install mine. Yes the brake line is there but you only have to move it alittle bit then it goes right back in place after you have installed the bracket. Check out my pics of the install to see what i'm talking about

SUPERGEWL,
Thats the pictures I wanted to see thanks a bunch. The drivers side bracket is where I have the problem. The bracket interfieres with a tab welded to the frame for the brake line. It looks like I need to bolt it up and call it good. By the way how do the air bags work I've never used them before. My kit is the same exact one as yours very easy install.....
Thanks a bunch,
Tim

They work great. I'll get a better chance to test them starting next week when I head accross country. I usually only have about 5lbs of air in them until I load up the 5vr. I go with about 10lbs of air when loaded, this keeps the truck level and smooths out a few bumps.
