Got my Med Card,DOT#,Log Book more problems

Okay so now I'm legal for towing for my business & went to Sheridan,WY from Toledo,Ohio. The trip was going ok till we got to SD had to go over the scales & they called me into the bldg had all my paperwork & there question was where ru going, when I said to WY he said OK if your going to work in SD you need to go to the courthouse & get a temp registration f/the truck.
So I thought that's great I wonder if WY has this too?Well, they do & they also flagged & asked the same thing. And when I asked where is the courthouse in Sheridan she shrugged her shoulders like she didn't care.
Then she said OH here the address. So I go to the courthouse(after getting directions from the hotel)go to get the permit & had to get an app first $9.00 then go get it f/$35.00.
They told me it's good f/30days I told her I'm only staying f/3days & my truck won't even be leaving the parking lot she couldn't understand why I needed it either.
SOOO next year I'm tellin them I'm going to Spokane,WA
P.S. my hitch rubbed when I left the courthouse & when I got to the hotel I found out why it was broke, luckily I found another & made it back ok.

there called trip permits if you are not paying the IRP fees on the registration your vehicle that travels from state to state. big trucks and some hotshots run apportioned tags for this reason

If he was towing his own stuff, (I'm assuming he's a contractor of some sort, pulling a trailer with his own tools in it), does he still need to be apportioned?

After writing the above, I guess he would, wouldn't he. I never would have given the apportioned reg a thought tho.
