Some pics of Dexter relocation kit. You don't have to weld the new perches on but I did anyway.

Nice pics but does the relocation kit fit all axles and if not are we talking about Dexter axles on the horse trailer? Do the existing axles already have a plate top and bottom?

You have to order the right diameter kit for your application. The kit comes with new perches (plate) that go on top of the axle. Horse railer? I guess it does kind of look like a horse trailer in the pic but it's a camper.

Goodeye's trailer in question is the horse trailer. What I mean about "does it fit" was that the backs of the spring plates/perches are sometimes different and does his already have the extra plate/perch installed. Some axle manufactures do do this to accommodate exactly what he is trying to do.

Just picked up my trailer from the spring shop yesterday. This is what happens when the hitch isn't ready in the new truck. I picked up 6" of lift from moving the axles under the springs.
This combo previously pulled dead level.

With that said, I have seen a lot of people do exactly what you are wanting to do with varying degrees of success. Usually tire wear is the most obvious negative effect as the arch of the axle is already in the 'wrong' orientation and placing weight on it make the arch more pronounced and in the process toes the top of the tires inward. Also, it's not quite just a matter of unbolting/flipping/rebolting; you'll have to either move or replace the spring perches that are welded to the axles.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Axles are comparitively cheap compared to a high speed axle failure on the highway.

chaikwa.

Correct as far as it went but flipping the axels is hot an accurate term what you are really doing is adding new perches above the old ones then reinstalling the springs on top of those new perches. Works great I've done it on every TT I've had.
