Failed leaf spring on 5er

Has anyone here ever heard of a leaf spring failing on a tandem-axle 5er (NOT overloaded)?

I had one snap in two, trying to figure out how common it is.

Leaf spings fail.....most times its not from overloading but rather from sudden shocks like bad railroad tracks or bad pot holes.....the most common point for a spring to break is in the center by the axle
