Class IV hitch????????
Class IV hitch????????
I want to tow a 1963 Buick Electra on a car trailer about 1000 miles along the East Coast. The highest rated Class IV receiver hitch I can find is 6000/600. That might be a light; does anyone know of a higher rated receiver hitch? The Electra is about 4600 lbs and trailer I'm guessing about 2500 + lbs.

I wouldn't get a titan unless you plan on towing over 12000 lbs.
Draw tite makes a super class IV that is rate up to 12000lbs with weight dist, hitch. most class IV are good for 1000/10000. the factory hitch will do that.
I would say any class IV will be ok for what your going to tow. and your factory hitch will be fine if you have one. I tow a 3400 pound race car in a 20ft enclosed trailer thats about 3500 lbs and have no problems with a class IV hitch. however i do use a weight dist hitch.

My factory receiver is good for 500 tongue/5000 trailer dead load or 1000 tongue/10000 trailer with weight distributing. If you run a weight distributing-design hitch, you should be fine.
