Question Enclosed Car Hauler Price????

Well I am in need of a enclosed car hauler to move the family back home from Oregon to Colorado middle of next year. Locally I found a new Loadrunner for $6500 24' 5400lb per axle. Is this a good price or should keep looking?? If this is not a good price does anyone know where I could get a new or used 24 footer??

Also is a 24' big enough to fit a 3 bedroom home with a 1995 Toyota Corolla??

I doubt you will be able to fit all of that on a 24' trailer.

Well I was thinking it would be a pretty tight fit. I may have to get rid of some of my furniture....if the wife would let me.

Have one of your family members drive the corolla folling behind you and you might get it all in there? Be sure to get one with 16" 10 ply tires. If I see one more big heavy trailer going down the road on 15" 6 or 8 ply tires I am gonna puke.

Thank you for the recommendations. I will make sure the tires on the trailer are 16" and 10ply. Thanks again.

I used my outlaws 24' enclosed Pace 3 times now to move. On the last two I had 3 or more p/u truck loads that wouldn't even fit (trailer was NICELY packed too).

I might just have more junk that you though

Has anyone told you that you should get silly with chucking stuff NOW, before you have to handle stuff out of your attic just so you can throw it up in your new attic??
Just a thought.

Price sounds decent on the trailer. I'd go with 6K's though if possible, by the time you back out the dry trailer weight, there isn't a whole lot of room left with 5400's on that type/size trailer.

My dad had a forest river 24' trailer custom built with tie downs everywhere on the floor and along the walls(meant for hauling hot rods), a diamond plate floor, and 7500 lb axles for $8500. Look on ebay if it doesnt have to be new. I would love to have one if I had the $$. I have towed my dads enclosed 24' and I LOVE the way it tows.

How much would hiring a pofessional moving company cost? Is it cheaper than buying a new trailer? Just food for thought.

Cost for a Uhaul truck one way is around $2500 with fuel costs included. I did look into a POD but that was about $2700. I was just thinking a trailer would be a better long term investment.

Check out www.racingjunk.com under the towing section for used and new trailers. There are usually some pretty good prices on there.

I've used my '30 enclosed Pace Shadow GT to move a friend and then a family member in the last month. My trailer has 3 5.2K axles and a curb weight of 5800 lbs. My truck is good for about 13,200. That would leave 7400 lbs payload.

It will move a 3 bedroom house in one trip. Furniture and appliances take up some significant floor space and then boxes get stacked up to the ceiling.

I don't know anyone who could move both a car and their belongings in my truck/trailer combination. You'd have to have an awefully small amount of furniture and few if any appliances. I'm even considering that the car is filled to the brim as well.

A 24' Enclosed steel frame/aluminum box with 5.2K axles is going to have very little payload remaining after you put a Camry stuffed with your belongings inside.

A friend up in Washington found a 24' with 5400lb axles new for $5200. And with everyone's input, I will not be putting the car in the trailer with all the household items. What was I thinking?! Thank you for everyone's input and talking sense into me.
