7 pin wiring at trailer connection

Does anyone know the wiring color ID for the 7 point wiring plug on an 02. My connector broke when I had my rear bumper bolts shear while towing my BBQ pit. Nothing but the wiring connector suffered any damage but the factory connector is modular and the aftermarket receptor I purchased has to be hard wired. Please help if you can steer me to a wiring diagram....

MANY THANKS in advance,

Gary

I can't vouch for the accuracy, but a Google search yielded the following:
My 2001 Dodge Ram was ordered with the trailer towing package and this is the Connector pin out configurations. When looking at the vehicle mounted connector viewed with the connector cover opened, the pins are not numbered but using the clock face positions.

1 o'clock = Battery (RD/TN)
3 o'clock = Stop/Rt Turn (BK/PK)
5 o'clock = Electric Brake (LB)
7 o'clock = Ground (BK)
9 o'clock = Stop/Lt Turn (DG/RD)
11 o'clock = Running Lights (BK/OR)
Centre Pin = Backup Lights (VT/BK)

I can scan the Chrysler document and email it to you if you wish. You will have to give me an email address.

Rusty,

Thank you, I just pulled the connector off and cut it loose and the color ID's match up with what you sent . I think there is one wire with a different color make up but the other 6 match exactly. Neat thing I found is that the DC connector has 8 wires for a 7 pin hook up. Looks like DC put in an extra ground wire. My guess is so that there is enough wire gauge to carry the 12 volts to the trailer battery. Thank you again sir!!!

Ed and Rusty, The new plug is now in and everything works just like it should. I found my nifty test light and went thru all the pins after install..... That is scary for me....

My wiring philosophy is:

1. one wire hook-up
2. two wire screw-up
3. three wire blow-up
4. four wire go home

I got 8 for 7 right the 1st time.....

I'll think I'll go have a Shiner Beer.........

Thanks again you gents. It is nice to have a place to come to to get quick right answers!!!!!

Gary

P.S. Rusty, you are close enough to where I am at, my office (Bingle and Pinemont) that I will buy you a cold one sometime if ya wanna meet..... Heck I was at a jobsite on Telge just yesterday.....

They install a specific amount of special smoke in all the circuits at the factory.

The trick is to not let it escape.
