Re:5th wheel to gooseneck adapter
If you have a B&W or Putnum gooseneck hitch they make an adaptor for you gooseneck hitch to 5er. This elimates any twisting forces you may have problem with.
Check with your mfg of the hitch if they have one.

Re:5th wheel to gooseneck adapter
I've got both the goose neck adaptor & the b&w 5th wheel companion. I pull with both. I only have a 29' full hight 5er. Both work really well. The only disadvantage I've found on the goose neck adaptor is haveing to raise the front of the 5er higher to clear the ball. I've noticed no stress on the king pin and box- it seames to hold up fine. Just make sure the king pin box hight adjustments bolts are tight. <br>db
Re:5th wheel to gooseneck adapter
Well I have used my inlaws camper (equiped with a cody adapter) many times, it pulls good and I have had absolutely no problems. The 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter would seem cheesy until you looked at it how it actually works. It is very heavy gauge steel and bolts to the kingpin and normal weight distributing area. The local RV dealer sells them and has not had any trouble (yet). I have a bw turnover and need this option rather than having both a gn and 5th in the bed. I know alot of people want to castrate me for using the cody adapter but it has worked well so far. CB
