3.73 or 4.10's auto quadcab 4x4 2008 2500 and 3500 srw

I want to purchase a new 2008 quadcab 4x4 automatic and I can't decide whether to get 3.73 or 4.10's. I will be towing not over 13,000lbs. I would really like to have the 3.73's. but in order to run in 6th gear it would only be turning about 1600 rpm's at 65. I am wondering if it will have enough torque and hp to tow at 1600 rpm's on level ground and a slight grade? Has anyone ever been in this situation? I guess I want the best of both worlds, towing and fuel economy.

Ditto what he said. You have enough gearing spread in the lower gears to pull the 3.73 easily, and just dont let it run into 6th,use 6th when empty. If your mountain towing most of the miles, and very heavy Id say the 4.10s are the best.

I'd get the 3.73s. My 5.9 has less grunt than the 6.7 does and I do fine with 3.73s,grossing about 19K combined.

If you were at the max (GCWR) I might consider the 4.10s.
