18' Car Hauler Questions

I have been looking at getting a trailer of some sort to haul cars and such on it. I have considered gooseneck deckovers and regular trailers with the tires next to the trailer.

I found a guy selling a new 18' trailer with tandem 3500# axles for $1100. Includes ramps and brakes on 1 axle. Does this seem like a good deal or does anyone know where I can find a decent used gooseneck cheap?

I am planning on hauling a variety of things, from a 01 Celica or a 74 Nova SS to small tractors.

Thanks,

Nick

That doesn't sound to bad, if it has a wood floor which for that price I bet it does, just check it out underneath and all over. I have one and on the driver side we made the fender fold down so the low cars you can still open the door instead of crawling out the window, I use mine for everything also. I made some side boards to use and they are handy when hauling stuff that you want to stay on the trailer. It really does not sound like a bad price if the floor is still stout. Goodluck,,Rick

Sounds like a average price for a tag-along flat bed.....in my area 16-18 ft car trailers sell for 600-1700 with ramps....be sure the wood deck isn't rotting on the under side.....and measure the width to besure a car will fit between the trailer wheels....and are there tie-down points

I have a 18 ft tilt flat bed that gets used allot is used hard and put away wet I built it over 18 years ago and still use it offen

Sounds like a pretty standard price. Most of the companies around here selling trailers that cheap put used car tires on the trailers. Might want to check on that. I ended up putting the correct trailer rated tires on after the first time I pulled my jeep. Made world of difference going down the road.

Check out Appalachian trailers they are in eastern Ohio. Get the biggest trailer you can and keep the gvw under 10,000k

I checked AnyWho and Google, but no phone # or contact info for Appalachian trailers. I admit I didn't look hard, but if you have a phone # or web site, I will give them a call.

Thanks,

Nick
