Website background poll
 

I know this is kind of a corny poll, but it's going to help me a lot when I re-do the site sometime next year......

Im wondering if you guys like white, or somewhat darker background colors on the sites you surf. Please post your vote.

Gray or silver seems to be easier on the eyes as far as I view. but then that is just my $.02 worth...

The way it is now is just right.

I guess this is either gray or silver isn't it.

I think the colors you currently have are the easiest on the eyes. Anything else seems to give me headaches

The present color is fine with me too,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Top is the only thing that seems to give me headaches! [eyecrazy] [laugh]

Gray is OKay. Anything but Farm Fuel Red or John Deere Green [yuk]

Like the colors, however if you are going to make changes, I have a suggestion......

Everytime a link gets clicked on, the whole page reloads, even the graphics at the top, maybe there could be a static top banner, and have every page change be beneath it. Also, maybe using some sort of java script for the chat room, I use sattelite, but I don't have any problems with any other websites about the download speeds of the page refreshes. Maybe cause this server is so busy.......

I like the grey.

The grey is fine. The only thing I really don't like is the dark blue scroll bar bar on the blue background on the right side of my screen. The contrast is not enough in certain kinds of light.

I think it is great just the way it is, why mess with a good thing? maybe different colors for the side scroller, but thats it.

Grey. I really like the way the site is layed out now. It's been the easiest on my eyes. White is usually too bright and hurts the eyes after too long.

I really like the readability as it is now- with any harder or lower contrast it would put more strain on the eyes- I think it's optimal right now !

Agree with the est, the way it is now is fine...except for the blue scroll bar...

Present color scheme works well. Great site by the way. Been a lurker for quite some time now. Excellent info, links, etc.

Nothing corny about finding peoples' preferences, Jack. I like the grey/silver. I had the forest green scheme for a long time on my Windows 98 system. I loved the grey/tan/dark green scheme. I don't mind the scroll bar, but I rarely use it, prefering the wheel on my mouse. I think the color scheme works very well.

Grey is good.

I wonder if thats a age thing.

I'm not sure to be honest with you. I'm surprised though that the overwhelming majority is good with grey. I like it too.

Don't change it! I like it just the way it is and it seems most others do too. I think the grey is easiest on the eyes.:cool:

White background and colored text [perhaps some shade of darkish red]. BTW, the site works MUCH better now than it did when I first starting reading it, so keep up with those improvements. Great Job! :D

Yes, Jack, I'm quite surprised with the poll results as well??? Perhaps folks just get "comfortable" with things after they've looked at them for a while...

I also agree with the previous poster, the blue bar to the right of each page should be reconsidered...JMHO ;)

I'm in with the grey. I kinda like the blue scroll bar myself.

All in all, I like this format much better than the last one, and even the old format here was better than the latest format of the "other" board[yuk]

Thanks for participating guys. I'm not making any changes to the look until the new server comes. Even then, it's not going to be anything significant. I know there are a lot of sites out there that make themselves very busy in terms of their page design, but keeping it simple is key in my opinion. Makes it easy to find things, and people can quickly see the information they're looking for.

Jack, as I said before, it's fine the way it is with the exception of the vertical scroll bar. Please, please, please change the contrast to make it more visable.

Just the way it is......looks great and easy on the eyes.

grey is better than the white.

White is very handy if I want to light my room up with my monitor, but otherwise I'd much rather have a grey background. :)

As is but IF change needs to be made, go darker. Great site :D
