Thread Moving from 3rd Gen Forums
I don't spend a lot of time on DTR but I do like to surf 3rg Gen forums for aftermarket & performance related stuff. That's pretty easy to do on other boards because that's all found in the 3rd Gen forums. But not here. You gotta weed through the aftermarket forums and go into the threads to find out if it's 3G stuff or not and it's quite inconvenient/annoying. A lot of this stuff is 3G-specific. The Performance & Aftermarket forums is like a big bin of parts for both series of trucks all thrown in together and mixed up so you have to dig through everything and figure out what it is you want.
I don't know if this topic has been discussed before but it's one of my rants I wanted to toss out here
Now that I've whined & complained I'll contribute a couple of suggestions: How about "Performance and Aftermarket Accessories: 3rd Gen" and "Performance and Aftermarket Accessories: 2nd Gen" forums instead?
OK I'll go back to my corner now and leave our fine and hard-working moderators alone

Re:Thread Moving from 3rd Gen Forums
The 3rd Gen forums are designed to incorporate all the stock parts questions and answers.
I have asked members posting to these forums to add the 2003 or 2004 to the titles of their threads so that as they are moved into the appropriate forums, they are easier for you to find.

OK, I won't keep bringing up an old topic then
I do think it's a bit hokey to mention what truck you're talking about in each heading, but what the heck, it's not about doing things my way :P LOL

Re:Thread Moving from 3rd Gen Forums
Vaughn,
The only reason I haven't added a area specific to 3rd gen for high performance and aftermarket is more because I don't want to have a ton of different forums on the board. I would like to split them up a little bit, but I've noticed that once you start adding a ton of forums, people start to get confused, then complain about how they can't find anything. That was really the main reason behind leaving that area available for all generations. It just keeps the board cleaner as a whole. Thanks for the input though.

I understand where you're coming from, but there are a lot of factors involved as to why we move that to the high-performance forum. Since there are two threads on this now, we'll close this one and you guys can respond in the new one if you feel the need. I think Lary explained quite well why we do what we do. His explanation is in the other thread.
