Spell Checker and/or Grammar Checker

It would be nice if we could incorporate some sort of spell checker or possibly a grammar checker. I just read a post that made my head hurt. I couldn’t even finish it.

There are products that work with your browser like IESpell if you use Internet Explorer. But the real problem is that people won't use them even if they know about them.

I know what you mean though, sometimes I just have to leave a post as I can't bear to read anymore.

In the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be upgrading the forum software to VB 3.6 which is a lot more stable then this version. I'm not sure if it has a spell checker or not but if not, then I'm going to do some checking to see what I can find out. I'm sure there is something out there that will work with this forum software. If I can find it, I'll install it.

In addition, I'm going to setup a bug tracker on the site so the users can submit bugs, and then watch their status as I work through each of them. I thought it might be a good idea to have that so if people see an issue, they can just submit it as a bug.

Well, how about that.
I've had the google toolbar here at work for over a year and never noticed the spell check before.
AllI really use it for is a pop-up blocker though.

Ask and ye shall receive.

I've been running 3.6 for about a week now. Works very well, and no major issues to speak of.

I'm running it on all-politics.net right now but I'm having a minor style issue that I'm trying to figure out. It seems that in the posts, they are skinnier in the postbit area then they are on the top table, so to speak.

Talking about the fonts in the header and postbit templates? Looks fine on my PC. Postbit is a normal font and headers are displayed in bold.

No plugins for grammar checking that I know of. If you MUST use a grammar checker, type your post in Word, run your grammar and spell check, then copy and paste to the forums.
