Notification settings????

Re:Notification settings????
Go to your Inbox, then click preferences. Once you're there, you will see an option to notify by email. If you're logged into the board though, I don't know how you can miss the popup that shows up every time you get a PM. It's not a popup window, but a popup message.

I get the pop-up... what I'd like is an e-mail when i'm not logged in.

the other is defaulting the "Check this if you wish to be notified of replies to this topic" to on so you don't have to click it explicitly.

Thanks,
Mark

Under that setting you have an ignore box, and a notification box. If you want to be notified about new messages via email, choose yes, then submit. At that point, you will receive an email when you receive new private messages.

I have this off because I don't want my server emailing people when they haven't explicitly chosen to be notified. I don't want people emailing me complaining about spam, especially when they havent' subscribed to a topic, so I have no plans on changing this in the future.

If you want to be notified of replies to a specific topic, then go to that topic and click the "notify" button next to the reply and send topic buttons. It'll ask you to confirm that you want to be emailed with replies to that particular topic. Click yes. If you ever want to stop notifications on that topic, then go to your notification settings and remove it.

Jack
the other is defaulting the "Check this if you wish to be notified of replies to this topic" to on so you don't have to click it explicitly.
