Any opions on this?
Mike,
My opinion is that you should install a spell checker before you get on the staff of a magazine

Something quarterly would be cool

$50??? Ouch! There is a somewhat similar debate going on over @ cumminsforum right now. I think it would be possible as an online magazine, but it would be a lot of work and not worth it to do a printed one, especially for free.

I voted no, only because I dont have any time or interest to read another magazine. I spend plenty of time here and elsewhere, and what better content could you offer? Not wanting to offend, just offering my opinion.

No offense taken. I tend to agree with you.

Monthly Magazine

One of the problems I have always had with my mag subscriptions is that they are always trying to keep up with the newest trucks and products. I want my rig to last ten or more years and it's an '01. Not many articles on working on '01 24v Cummins in Diesel Power or any of the others. Unless it was in 2000 or 2001! I like the web pages and forums since I can zero in on my specific interests, anytime day or night and get knowledgable help and advice. Thanks for a great website! Kurt

I voted NO because I ain't reading a book until they make one that you can change the font size with the click of a button! Not to mention,,,,,,, saving pictures from the puter is a lot easier than cutting them out of a book,,,,, plus Jack don't allow me to play with anything sharp anyways.

It's a wonderful idea, but I voted NO!

DTR is so successful because it's a website, not a newsletter, quarterly, e-zine or whatever. I love my trade magazines, industry publications and enthusiast rags - but they all lack what DTR excels at: timely (that is - real time) information, discussion and community - something the rest can never aspire to, since it's not inhererent in their nature or design.

Case in point: TDR ( ) is arguably the best diesel magazine out there, excellent in many regards.... how often do I read it?

Only when I see a copy laying around at a buddies place - I won't spend $ on a product that is inferior to what I can get from DTR for free!

Real-time communication, e-commerce and e-content is the wave of the future... and the future is here.

Hmmm, ya know, that is a very good point. So maybe instead of focusing on a printed magazine, we could concentrate our efforts on more technical articles published on the web but at the same time, make the more printer friendly so you can take them with you as you work on your vehicle.

More Tech Articles = Always a good thing.

Not to mention a way to draw more users in.
