I can't find a post from January 08 that I had posted, I have exausted the search options, posts with similar titles did display but not the specific post I had made.

I see several posts of yours from that date, try going to the bottom of the Forum page and clicking on your name in that list of online members. Yours will always be the first one in the list, this takes you to your profile.

Scroll down the left side of the page until you see "find all posts by hvytrkmech" click on that and you can search all of your posts
