Locking Old Threads
Locking Old Threads
Seen this on other forums, after a year of inactivity, the threads are automatically locked, to prevent them being brought back from the dead for one nonsense post.
I guess on the bright side, it means people are using the search button.

While most the time it seems rather annoying, I have seen a few old threads really come back to life with some good info that way.... I think locking down information that you don't have to is a mistake, unless of course you are trying to find a way to up your thread count
I think that would be a mistake. I have seen threads resurrected after two or three years with very pertinent information in them. I am guessing a lot of that info would be lost if the threads had been locked and new ones started...
After a few months I don't remember ever reading a thread, even if I see that I had posted in it myself, so it's just like reading a brand new thread.
I blame years of exhaust fumes.

I agree with what Lary has said!
A very good example of what he is saying is on the Water Injection Thread we have "STICKEYED" at the top of the 3rd Gen Section. We have ALOT of questions and inquiries on that subject and personally, I reference it ALOT for our members.
