Can images be used in signatures?

I tried the [img][/img] approach all I got was the URL in plaintext as an active link to the image file, rather than the image file rendered within the signature. I also tried expressly coding the <img src=""> HTML but that didn't work either.

The vCode docs suggest [img][/img] should work in the signature area. True? False? How to accomplish that?

Thanks!

That is it as long as it is hosted on a website. Place the picture in your gallery here and you can copy the img code right from there.

You can post images in a regular post using the img code, but images are not allowed in signatures. Some of them were getting way too out of hand, so we turned off that feature a long time ago.

OK, thanks - you had me going there for a minute...

...with that suggestion that it would work "if hosted on a website" (i.e. if it was online somewhere). Obviously I had it available via a hyperlink or an traditional <img> tag wouldn't have had a prayer of working.

Glad there's a good explanation (it's turned off!). I spent quite a while trying to make it work today.

Thanks!

There is a significant portion of the users that do not have broadband internet available to them and it makes pages very difficult to load when they are loaded heavily with images.... It would be my guess that this is why Jack turned them off.....
