Quiz for you all

And Mark Nixon already know's this one because he helped me with it . Thank's Buddy OK Have a 91.5 reg cab 4x4 auto that the guy fired the engine harness and the under dash wasn't much better well 3 day's Later it's all been changed to 93 wiring and ECMQuiz question is What does the 91.5 Not have that the 93 has ? My problem is No charge and no OD yes speedo work's Got any Idea's . It's Kinda funny but I spent half a day tracking this down .

91.5 doesn't have the voltage regulator in the ECM

91.5 does not have a crank sensor . . .you need it for the 93 PCM to work.

91.5 also has an overdrive control module next to the glove box that 92 & up do not have.

92 & 93 will not charge without a crank sensor.

DING DING DING Yes Sir you hit the Nail on the Head No CPS but it will soon have 1 that's for sure . Now The Question is I have to make sure the front will take a Crank sensor it has the double notch ballancer so I am good there just have to make sure it has the holes for the bolt's to mount it .it's a 7 of 1991 truck so I should be ok .

What year did they start using a tone ring?
With the common rail?

Crank sensor mounts on special stud bolts that replace two of the timing cover bolts. Be sure you get the tubular spacers, too.

Was not cruise control a separate module through 91 and going internal on 92-93?

You, sir, are correct!
The module for 1990-'91 is mounted under the dash, near the E-brake pedal.

O-BTW, I have seen 2-notch dampers as early as late 1990 in Dodge trucks.

This is required for the factory-supported add-on tachs that the Japanese supplied to the Dodge dealers.
