Hi guys,

I'm going to upgrade my A518 with a flexplate, convertor, and valve bod from Suncoast convertors.

My brother suggested that I have new clutches installed, since the trans is going to be opened up anyways.

I figured I should also have the bands replaced too. I'm not shooting for a whole lot of power, probably 250-300 whp, but that is alot more than stock of course. I'm just tring to get it bumped it up so it's not such a dog towing a camper.

Where do I go to get this kind of stuff?

My 518 with 300k on it didnt need bands or cluthces it was the OD unit that puked. In fact I could still read the letters and numbers on the clutches, we just reused them and machined the thick steel down so the drum would accept 2 more clutches. The band was just cleaned up and reused also. I have about 20k on the rebuild and havent had any problems with the band or the clutches. It does have a Suncoast converter, a 2nd gen flexplate and a Transgo shift kit.

Not that fast, just shooting for around 300 whp. I figured since the trans is going to be opened up, I ought to replace some stuff to make it more durable.

That place is awesome. you notice they offer a full upgrade diesel 518? called the viper and mega viper.

Thats becuase they know there stuff and is basicly like talking to goerend on teh phone, they know there stuff. The full manual TH-400 auto in our chevy racetruck has all their parts in it. call them is the best thing i'd say.
