Your thoughts?

I have been using "LUCAS Upper Cylinder Lubricant" with everyother fill up since replacing the LP and IP about three months ago. Also, when I replaced the fuel filter I filled it to the brim as well. All I was looking for was to lube the pumps a little better in hopes of not killing another set anytime soon. However with the current and forseen increase in fuel prices and the fact that this "LUCAS" stuff is $27.00 a gallon I was wondering if any of you recommend any particualr addative (beit bio or synthetic) that may increase milage and power as well as lubrictiy? Are there any other ways to displace Dino fuel with another combustable that is $$ friendly and doesnt kill performance or longevity?

add some of your drain oil to it it will lube it up and you get rid of your drain oil
I add 3 gal to my tank when i do oil changes ... you could just add part on every fill up.
with the high price of fuel i will be adding a lot more to the tank!

I use to run Power Service Diesel Clean in my tank, but i have tried and am now sold on a product call Soy Shield. It's made by Schaeffer's Lubricants. For 24 - 12 oz bottles it ran me about $68. With it i have noticed an increase of about 1.5 mpg, i do alot of stop and go driving and i have 4.10's. i was getting 15.50 mpg city now i get about 17 mpg. it's cleans injectors and your fuels system and it lubes the fuel, it is formulated for ultra low sulfur diesel and works as a summer and winter formula. It also is made from US grown soy beans.

here's some info on it... http://www.schaefferoil.com/datapdf/139.pdf
